Medicine Creek Pheasant Ranch

Homesteaded by Oscar and Emma Authier in 1914, the Authier Ranch has transformed into a world-class pheasant hunting operation since 1986, when we first offered commercial hunts. We are located 30 miles south of Pierre near the junction of U.S. 83 and I-90. From Vivian, South Dakota, proceed north a half mile, then east 2 miles, then south a half mile.

We are not a game farm. In addition to our own land, we reserve hunting rights on over 4,000 acres, increasing our total hunting area to nearly 9,000 acres of farm and ranch land in central South Dakota. We dedicate our entire farming operation to pheasant habitat and food plots to ensure you have the hunt of a lifetime. Wild pheasant hunting is a way of life on the Authier Ranch.

We will start hunting the second week of September, and conclude the season in mid-December.
